With the snow falling, I thought I might issue a few words of caution to those out-of-staters who have never been on snowy roads with Virginia drivers. This is how things are done down here: speed limits are irrelevant. Lane width does not matter. Other cars on the road? Nope. It doesn't matter. When those flakes start falling, it's "5-10 mph and I don't care about anything else." VA drivers are terrified of the white stuff, and even more terrified of approaching the speed limit when there's any of it. It doesn't even have to be sticking - just falling will trigger the change. It's like the Bills. Things are cruisin along, winnin' games, but then all of a sudden...BAM - things are terrible, no one is happy, and pretty soon everyone else is way out in front. Sorry DeVon, but you can't deny that the analogy fits.
So if you are from a state north of the mason-dixon line, and have yet to be in Virginia for a snowstorm, just be prepared for wait awaits you on the roads out there. And I don't mean the snow.
